Introducing New Precedents: Stories on Law in the Age of AI

The legal profession is changing faster than ever — and AI is the catalyst. Lawyers everywhere are testing bold new ways of working, from streamlined workflows to reimagined roles.

To capture these stories, we’re launching New Precedents, a series of interviews with lawyers who are leading the profession into the age of intelligent tools. Each story highlights what it looks like to practice law when the drudgery falls away and more time is freed for judgment, strategy, and client value.

From large firms to lean teams, we’re showcasing stories of lawyers reimagining what the future of work looks like.

Episode 1: McInnes Cooper

We’re kicking off the series with McInnes Cooper, one of Atlantic Canada’s largest firms. Their team shared how Spellbook immediately made an impression across the firm.

Chief Innovation Officer James Mosher explained:

“When we started a short pilot and I went in and started using it, the most impressive thing is it was ready to be used.”

More than just efficiency gains, we also heard how Spellbook is helping the McInnes Cooper team uncover risks, deliver sharper guidance, and create more space for high-level client strategy.
