How to Integrate Spellbook with Dropbox

Getting started with the Dropbox integration takes just a few clicks. Here's how it works:

Connect your contract library in Dropbox

Go to Settings → Library → Connect to Dropbox. Sign in using the same email associated with your Spellbook account and select the folders you want to import. Spellbook will automatically create a corresponding folder in your Library.

Once connected, your Dropbox contracts become available as context across Spellbook:

• Ask: Query your contract history and get answers with citations pulled directly from your agreements
• Draft: Surface relevant clauses from your Dropbox library while you're drafting so you start from a known position
• Review: Use your precedents as a reference point when flagging risks and suggesting redlines
• Clause Library: Let Spellbook analyze your contracts and organize reusable language into a searchable library

Import specific files or folders

Prefer to import selectively? From the Library screen, click New Folder → Connect to Dropbox and choose only the files or folders you need. You can structure your library by deal type, client, or agreement category to keep things organized.

Please note: Folders can also be shared with your team so everyone in your organization can access the same library.

Keep your library up to date

Spellbook syncs changes from your connected Dropbox folders automatically every 15 minutes, so your library stays current as new contracts come in. Need it updated right now? You can trigger a manual sync from within the app at any time.

No. Once you connect Dropbox, Spellbook imports your selected files automatically. You can re-import folders at any time to bring in new contracts as your library grows.

Does the email I use to sign into Dropbox need to match my Spellbook account email?

Yes, the email you use to sign into Dropbox must match the email on your Spellbook account for the integration to work. If they're different, you can still upload files manually from your computer through the Library.

What file types does Spellbook support from Dropbox?

Spellbook supports DOCX, PDF (including scanned documents via OCR), and TXT files.

Will my contract data be completely secure?

Yes. Spellbook is SOC 2 Type II certified and HIPAA compliant. Spellbook also uses zero data retention with its LLM providers, so your contracts are never used to train AI models.
