Once linked, you can search the contracts you have in Google Drive to help you answer questions, surface relevant language, draft clauses, and run comparisons grounded in your agreements. No more uploading files. No more copy and pasting.
Connecting Google Drive takes just a few clicks and immediately makes your legal document library available to Spellbook. Here's how it works:
Open Spellbook's Settings → Library → Connect to Google Drive. Sign in with the same email associated with your Spellbook account, click "Allow" to grant Spellbook access, and close the confirmation window. Then click “Connect to Google Drive" once more to open your file picker and select the folders you want to import. Spellbook will automatically create a folder in your Library.
Please note: Import progress is tracked in the app so you'll know exactly when your files are ready to use.
Once they're connected, your contracts in Google Drive are available as context for the following:
You can choose which files to import from Google Drive rather than connecting your full library. From the Library screen, click New Folder → Connect to Google Drive and select the specific files or folders you want available. You can organize your library by deal type, client, or agreement category.
Please note: Folders can also be shared with your team so everyone in your organization can access the same library.
Spellbook automatically syncs changes from your connected folders in Google Drive every 15 minutes, so your library is always up to date as new contracts are added. If you want to update in real-time, you can trigger a manual sync directly from the app.

Yes, you have to sign into Google Drive using the same email that's associated with your Spellbook account for the integration to work. If your emails are different, you can still upload files manually from your computer via the Library.
