Spellbook connects to SharePoint so your legal team can actually use that history like searching contracts to find answers, pulling precedent language when drafting, and comparing incoming agreements against how you've negotiated before. Once it's connected, there's nothing to upload and nothing to maintain manually.

How to Integrate Spellbook With SharePoint

Connecting SharePoint to Spellbook takes just a few clicks. Here's how it works:

Connect your contract library in

Open Settings → Library → Connect to SharePoint. Sign in with your Microsoft account (make sure you have SharePoint access), choose the SharePoint site you want to connect to, and click "Continue." Select the documents you want to import, click "Select," and Spellbook will create a folder in your Library automatically.

Please note: Import progress is tracked in the app so you'll know exactly when your files are ready to use.

Once your SharePoint contracts are connected, they're available as context across all of Spellbook:

• Ask: Get answers drawn directly from your contract history, with citations that trace back to the source document in SharePoint
• Draft: Search your SharePoint library for clause language to use as a foundation when writing new agreements
• Review: Benchmark incoming contracts against your historical positions when flagging issues and suggesting redlines‍
• Clause Library: Let Spellbook extract individual clauses from your imported contracts and organize them into a searchable library your whole team can use

Import specific files or folders

You can be selective about what you bring in. From the Library screen, click New Folder → Connect to SharePoint and pick the specific files or folders you want Spellbook to work with. Organizing by deal type, client, or agreement category keeps your library structured and easy to navigate.

Please note: Folders can also be shared with your team so everyone in your organization can access the same library.

Keep your library up to date

Spellbook automatically syncs your connected SharePoint folders every 15 minutes so your library stays current as new documents are added. If you need an immediate refresh, you can trigger a manual sync from inside the app.

Do I need to upload contracts manually after connecting SharePoint?

No. Once you connect SharePoint, Spellbook automatically imports the files and folders you selected. You can connect additional folders at any time as your library grows.

Does the email I use for SharePoint need to match my Spellbook account email?

Yes, the Microsoft account you use to connect SharePoint must match the email associated with your Spellbook account. If they don't match, you can still add files to Spellbook by uploading them directly through the Library.

What file types does Spellbook support from SharePoint?

Spellbook supports DOCX, PDF (including scanned documents via OCR), and TXT files.

Will my contract data be completely secure?

Yes. Spellbook is SOC 2 Type II certified and HIPAA compliant, and uses zero data retention with its LLM providers, meaning your contracts are never used to train AI models.

Can I organize my imported contracts into separate folders?

Yes. Spellbook automatically creates a folder for each import, and you can build out a custom folder structure organized by deal type, matter, or agreement category. Folders can be shared with your team so everyone has access to the same library.
